Our practical starting point

Start with Robin if its published height range and desktop sizes suit your setup. It has the same 120 × 60 cm starting footprint as Pro and the lower checked item price. Consider Pro when you need its lower published minimum or one of its larger tops, after confirming the exact assembled heights.

What does the extra A$120 buy?

At the checked prices, Pro is about 17% more than Robin. That calculation compares the two white 120 × 60 cm configurations before delivery, accessories or discounts. The starting desktop area is identical: 0.72 m².

Height range is the main reason to investigate Pro

Pro’s listed minimum is 7 cm lower and its stated range is wider. If you work comfortably below 72 cm, that is a reason to ask about Pro, rather than assume the standard desk will adjust low enough. Both listings leave frame-only versus finished-surface height unclear; Pro also has conflicting maximum figures. Get the assembled range confirmed before relying on it.

A larger top changes both price and room requirements

At 140 cm wide, Robin lists 60 cm depth and Pro 65 cm. Pro’s largest listed top is 160 × 70 cm. Its area is about 56% larger than the 120 × 60 cm starting top, calculated from dimensions; that larger variant has its own price. Check chair movement, monitor position, desk feet and cable clearance as well as the top.

Desktop footprints drawn at the same scaleBoth priced desks have a 120 by 60 centimetre desktop. A separate 160 by 70 centimetre Pro option is larger and costs more. Both priced tops120 × 60 cmLarger Pro option160 × 70 cm
Desktop dimensions only. The larger Pro option is not the A$819 configuration. We have not measured the full floor footprint or tested stability.

Two motors are shared by both models. Three-stage legs alone do not establish better stability, quieter operation or longer life. We have no independent side-by-side test of those outcomes.

Check the full cost and conditions

9AM’s delivery policy uses packed shipment weight. The 11–60 kg band is A$39.90, with additional charges above 60 kg and possible remote-area charges. Robin’s 120 cm packaging table adds to 60.4 kg while its summary rounds to 60 kg; the Pro table adds to 55.6 kg. These are retailer figures, not weighed parcels. Compare both actual checkout totals rather than assuming identical delivery.

The desk warranty policy separates frames/motors (10 years), tops (5 years) and control parts (3 years). A general 10-year badge does not describe every component.

The return window is 30 days, with original packaging and no signs of use or installation required. Change-of-mind freight can reduce the refund. Ask before assembly if you need to assess the product at home. Read 9AM’s return conditions ↗.

Common buying questions

Is Robin Pro worth the upgrade?

It is worth investigating if you need the lower published minimum or a larger Pro desktop. If the standard Robin’s confirmed heights and sizes already suit you, this research does not establish a benefit worth paying extra for.

Do both desks have the same size top?

The two priced configurations are both 120 × 60 cm. Other sizes differ, and larger variants can cost more.

Which desk is more stable?

We have not tested stability side by side. The motor count, leg stage count and retailer claims cannot answer that independently.
